Currently riding high on the back of the upcoming re release of his iconic ‘Big Love’ track . Already one of Ibiza’s hottest tunes in the form of the David Penn remix that’s being rinsed to death at parties such as Glitterbox ,Soul Heaven and Defected @ Eden . However Pete’s HOUSE journey started way before the 1998 release of ‘Big Love ‘.Cutting his DJing teeth playing warehouse parties in Manchester while studying at the university he hooked up with Danny Rampling at Shoom in South London where Pete warmed up for Danny and at times played Guitar over the House and Balearic beats .

Pete joined up with Andrew Weatherall and Terry Farley in a short lived but to this day much loved ‘Boys Own Balearic super group ‘ Bocca Juniors . As Boys Own records morphed in Junior Boys Own Pete and Terry Farley became a duo that worked on and help make Pop Stars out of The Farm as well as remixing the likes of Happy Mondays , U2 , Michael Jackson , New Order , Kylie , Janet Jackson and of course House Royalty such as Frankie Knuckles , Robert Owens ,Armando , Junior Vasquez , Loleatta Holloway . In their Guises as Fire Island and Roach Motel they achieved top 20 pop hits with the seminal ‘Ultra flava ‘ and ‘Shout it to the top ‘ .

After Pete’s solo track ‘Big Love ‘ he followed it up with the Techy ‘Sputnik / Stylus Trouble on Junior London ( a offshoot of JBO ) and a wonderful collab with New York legend Tedd Patterson for ‘ Big room drama ‘ . In 2004 Pete started his own vinyl label Phela records which saw Pete explore his harder, techier side as well as releasing solo music on John Digweed’s Bedrock label .

The last decade has seen DFTD release a 3 CD compilation of Heller and Farley’s classic works as well as singles such as ‘We built this house ‘ by the pair .Very much in demand Pete and Terry have in recent times played Glitterbox ,Farr Festival , Shindig festival ,Ministry of Sound and in Italy,Ibiza and Berlin .

It may be 20 years old but the huge reaction to the 20th anniversary re release of Pete’s ‘Big Love ‘ shows that the classics will always rise to the top whether that’s in the studio or behind the decks . Pete’s style of mixing up music from the last 4 decades of House and Disco continues to get Dancers into a frenzy whatever their ages.
